Navakeralam Karma Padhathi

The Navakeralam Karma Padhathi, an initiative by the Government of Kerala, launched as a feasible solution to the socio- economic development challenges faced by Kerala and thereby create a new Kerala through new development perspectives and prospective planning.

The Navakeralam Karma Padhathi envisages to undertake tasks of contemporary relevance to resolve the prevailing issues of the people and lay foundation for long-term reforms for the development of the state. Navakerala Karma Padhati-2 envisages to achieve the set goals by mobilizing the masses on a large scale through the participatory campaigns and through coordination of the Local Self-Government Institutions, the concerned departments and agencies through the integration of Central and State Government schemes

Objectives

The main objective of the mission is to organize and coordinate sustainable development activities in the fields of public health, education, basic needs and livelihoods, agriculture expansion, water conservation, waste management, environmental protection, disaster resilient and eco-friendly development projects. The task is to create a brand-new Kerala whereby interventions to resolve the existing limitations and simultaneously strategizes techniques to confront the challenges of the future by synchronising large scale people’s participation with the highest viable technology.

The Navakeralam Karma Padhati-2, comprises of the existing four development missions and the Rebuild Kerala Initiative (RKI) under one umbrella. The Government of Kerala have issued order G.O (P) No.10/2021/P&EA dated 01.08.2021 regarding the formulation of NKP-2 to implement the objectives set forth with more effective coordination, integration, and evaluation methods.

The Haritha keralam mission a sub mission under NKP focuses on the primary sector with eco friendly development initiatives in agricultutre and allied activities, water conservation,waste management, environmental protection, and climate resilient disaster management practices

The second sub mission of NKKP- Life mission envisages to provide the deserving with basic necessities like housing and equip them with means of livelihood and thereby aimed at increasing their quality of life and livelihood facilities to attain financial empowerment.

The Vidhyakiranam and Aardram missions another subsidiaries of NKKP prioritise to enhance the quality of education and health services provided by public schools and hospitals by utilizing the state of art infrastructure provided so far.

NKP attempts to inculcate in the general public a sense of responsibility to maintain the achievements so far achieved and also keeps a close vigil to sustain gains so far made in the fields of waste management, water conservation, agriculture, environmental protection, public assets maintenance, hospitals maintenance and health services, etc.

NKP strategizes a coordinating and convergent role by linking the activities of the four development missions and the Rebuild Kerala Initiative simultaneously ensuring continuity in the existing mission activities.
